The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned revenue targets, developing new business opportunities, retaining key accounts, and promoting the hotel's products, services, facilities, and events across relevant market segments.ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & Revenue GenerationDevelop and execute annual, quarterly, and monthly sales action plans in line with the hotel's commercial strategy and revenue objectives.Achieve and exceed assigned monthly and annual sales targets across relevant business segments.Identify opportunities to increase room nights, revenue, events, weddings, meetings, and other hotel revenue streams.Develop targeted sales strategies for corporate, leisure, wholesale, travel trade, wedding, social events, MICE, and other relevant market segments.Work closely with Revenue Management to optimize business mix, pricing, availability, and revenue opportunities.Monitor business production and take corrective action where performance is below target.Business Development & New AccountsIdentify and acquire new business opportunities through proactive sales calls, appointments, networking events, exhibitions, trade shows, referrals, market research, and digital channels.Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and ensure regular follow-up on all qualified leads and opportunities.Conduct cold calls, sales visits, presentations, client meetings, and business development activities to generate new accounts.Convert enquiries and leads into confirmed business through effective sales techniques and negotiation.Identify opportunities in new markets, segments, geographic areas, and customer groups.Account Management & Relationship BuildingBuild, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, corporate clients, travel agencies, tour operators, wedding planners, event organizers, and business partners.Manage and grow assigned key accounts to maximize revenue contribution and customer retention.Conduct regular account reviews and business meetings with key clients.Develop account plans for high-value and strategic accounts.Ensure timely follow-up on client requirements, feedback, complaints, and business opportunities.Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to generate repeat and referral business.Weddings, Events & MICEProactively develop wedding, social events, meetings, conferences, and MICE business.Identify potential event planners, wedding planners, companies, agencies, and social clients.Conduct site inspections, presentations, property tours, and client meetings.Prepare proposals and negotiate commercial terms to convert enquiries into confirmed events.Coordinate with Events, F&B, Operations, and other departments to ensure smooth delivery of confirmed business.Maintain close follow-up with clients before, during, and after events to encourage repeat business and referrals.Sales Calls & Client EngagementMaintain an effective schedule of daily sales calls, client visits, appointments, presentations, and networking activities.Conduct regular outside sales calls and account visits to generate business.Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, roadshows, networking events, and industry functions.Organize and participate in client entertainment and familiarization trips where appropriate.Maintain professional and regular communication with existing and prospective clients.Contracts, Offers & Commercial AgreementsPrepare corporate, travel agent, wholesale, wedding, and other commercial offers and agreements.Negotiate rates, packages, terms, and conditions within approved commercial guidelines.Ensure contracts and rate agreements are properly documented, approved, and maintained.Monitor contracted accounts and ensure agreed rates, production commitments, and conditions are effectively managed.Coordinate with Revenue Management and Finance regarding credit terms, payment conditions, commissions, and account requirements.Market & Competitor IntelligenceMonitor market conditions, customer trends, competitor activities, pricing, promotions, new openings, and changes in demand.Provide regular feedback to management regarding market trends and business opportunities.Conduct competitor analysis and identify opportunities to strengthen the hotel's market positioning.Share relevant market intelligence with Revenue, Marketing, and senior management.Sales Reporting & Performance AnalysisMaintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, account information, activities, opportunities, and production reports.Monitor individual account and segment performance against targets.Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, production reports, and activity reports as required.Track leads, enquiries, conversion rates, lost business, pipeline value, room nights, revenue, and account production.Analyse sales performance and recommend corrective actions and new business opportunities.Ensure all sales activities and customer information are properly recorded in the hotel's CRM/sales system.Marketing & Promotional SupportCollaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute sales campaigns, promotions, packages, and tactical offers.Provide sales input into marketing plans based on market feedback and customer requirements.Support hotel campaigns, launches, activations, exhibitions, and promotional events.Identify opportunities for joint promotions and partnerships with key accounts and external organizations.Cross-Departmental CoordinationWork closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Reservations, Front Office, F&B, Events
