Sales Support Specialist

Our client, a well-established distributor serving the commercial construction sector, is seeking a Sales Support Specialist to join their team.This is a diverse, relationship-focused role that combines customer support, inside sales, purchasing coordination, and inventory management responsibilities. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for customers while supporting product sourcing, quotations, order management, and sales opportunity development.The ideal candidate will bring experience from construction products, industrial distribution, building materials, mechanical products, plumbing products, or a related sector and thrive in a fast-paced environment where initiative, organization, and follow-through are highly valued.Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to customer inquiries and provide exceptional sales support.Prepare quotations and coordinate product pricing, availability, and specifications.Identify opportunities to develop customer inquiries into additional sales opportunities.Liaise with outside sales representatives to advance projects and customer opportunities.Coordinate purchasing activities and supplier communications across a large SKU-based product portfolio.Support inventory planning and replenishment activities.Ensure order accuracy and maintain high service standards.Maintain accurate information within inventory, quoting, and customer management systems.Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.Qualifications5+ years of experience in sales support, inside sales, customer service, purchasing, or a related role.Experience within construction materials, industrial distribution, plumbing, mechanical, or building products preferred.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.Detail-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.AssetsGraphic design experience for product specification sheets and marketing materials.Shopify or e-commerce platform experience.Inventory management software experience.Compensation & Benefits$60,000 - $80,000 base salaryExtended health benefits3 weeks vacationHybrid work environmentPotential future RRSP matching and professional development opportunities
