Location: Toronto, ONJob Type: Full Time, PermanentWork arrangement: Hybrid (2 days)Only candidates legally eligible to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship will be contactedAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to join a growing CRM technology team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving complex business challenges, building scalable Salesforce solutions, and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.You will play a key role in designing, developing, integrating, and deploying Salesforce applications and custom solutions. You will work alongside business analysts, architects, software engineers, data professionals, and external partners to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems, and is passionate about delivering simple, user-focused Salesforce solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Flows, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).Translate complex business requirements into well-architected technical solutions.Develop and maintain Salesforce integrations with third-party applications and external systems.Design and develop APIs using REST, SOAP, and other integration technologies.Participate in code reviews and apply modern software development best practices.Work with Git and CI/CD tools to support structured development and deployment processes.Collaborate with architects, business analysts, developers, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.Troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective, maintainable solutions.Contribute to Salesforce platform enhancements, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.Take ownership of assigned components and contribute to larger technical initiatives.Stay current with Salesforce releases, emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and data integration practices.Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative culture of continuous learning and improvement.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is required.Strong hands-on experience developing on the Salesforce platform.Proficiency with Apex, Salesforce Flows, and Lightning Web Components.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.Experience developing and integrating REST/SOAP APIs and third-party systems.Experience with Git, Jenkins, Copado, or other version control and CI/CD technologies.Working knowledge of Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage competing priorities.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) or Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud.Salesforce Platform Developer II certification.Experience working with nonprofit data models, recurring donations, General Accounting Unit (GAU) allocations, and donor/constituent workflows.Experience with middleware platforms and complex enterprise integrations.Experience with Salesforce data migration and data management.Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.Exposure to AI, automation, analytics, and emerging Salesforce technologies.PlanIT is an equal opportunity employer.
