This role involves greeting and engaging customers, presenting jewelry pieces, explaining product features and certifications, and guiding customers through purchase decisions. The Salesperson will handle sales transactions, assist with special orders, and ensure merchandise is displayed and maintained to store standards. Daily responsibilities include building relationships with customers, following up on inquiries, and supporting store events and promotions. The role also requires accurate recordkeeping, collaboration with team members, and adherence to company policies and American Gem Society guidelines.Qualifications Sales and customer service skills, including the ability to build rapport, understand customer needs, and close sales in a retail environment.Communication and interpersonal skills, with clear verbal communication, active listening, and a professional, customer-focused demeanor.Basic math and transaction-handling skills for processing payments, managing receipts, and ensuring accuracy at the point of sale.Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain product displays, manage inventory-related tasks, and ensure store cleanliness.Interest in jewelry, gemstones, and fine luxury goods, with willingness to learn product knowledge and gemological basics.Ability to stand for extended periods, work retail hours including weekends and holidays, and collaborate effectively in a team setting.Prior retail or jewelry sales experience is preferred but not required; membership-related training or AGS education is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in business, sales, or gemology is beneficial.
