Senior Business & Data Analyst – SAP BWIndustry: Retail

Location: BelgiumWe are looking for a Senior Business & Data Analyst with strong SAP BW expertise to support a major data transformation programme within the retail industry.You will bridge business stakeholders and data engineering teams, maintaining existing SAP BW reporting solutions while supporting the design and migration of data solutions to Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.Your responsibilitiesTranslate business needs into detailed data requirements, functional specifications, data mappings, transformation rules and KPI definitions.Design and document conceptual and logical data models alongside data engineers.Use SQL to profile data, validate business rules and assess data quality.Document data flows, extractors, data lineage and integration with the BigQuery data warehouse.Design and execute test scenarios, including regression testing, to ensure reliable reporting and data solutions.Deliver actionable insights through dashboards, datasets and self-service BI.Maintain and support SAP BW reporting solutions, investigate data discrepancies and resolve pipeline issues.Collaborate with data engineering, BI, data science and governance teams on end-to-end delivery.Support reporting governance, business glossary maintenance and user adoption.Your profileExtensive hands-on experience with SAP BW 7.5 on HANA, including DataSources, ADSOs, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, process chains, OpenHub extraction and BEx Queries.Strong experience in business and functional analysis, translating stakeholder needs into clear specifications.Excellent understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, ETL and enterprise data models.Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins.Proven experience with BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Looker or Tableau, and a strong understanding of data visualisation best practices.Understanding of cloud and big data platforms such as GCP or Azure.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.Excellent written and spoken English, plus French or Dutch.Nice to havePrevious experience in the retail industry.Experience with SAP Retail MM and SD modules.Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals and the ability to collaborate with data scientists.Interested?
