SAP Technical Integration Consultant (E-Invoicing)

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Integration Consultant to develop, customize, and support integrations between SAP ERP environments and a third-party e-Invoicing platform.The selected consultant will be responsible for understanding existing SAP implementations, identifying relevant financial and tax data, developing integration components, transforming data into the required formats, and ensuring reliable communication with the e-Invoicing platform.The role requires hands-on technical development experience across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze existing SAP ECC and S/4HANA configurations, integration interfaces, and data structures.Develop and customize SAP integration components for extraction of invoice, credit note, debit note, customer, tax, and related financial information.Develop ABAP programs, function modules, BAPIs, RFC interfaces, enhancement implementations, and other SAP-specific components as required.Implement SAP OData services, REST APIs, SOAP interfaces, or other suitable integration methods.Map and transform SAP invoice and tax data into the e-Invoicing platform's required data structure.Support outbound invoice transmission and inbound processing of invoice statuses, validation results, and error responses.Implement application-level validation, logging, exception handling, and retry mechanisms.Work with SAP CPI / Cloud Integration, SAP PI/PO, or other middleware when required; middleware experience is beneficial but not mandatory.Coordinate with SAP functional consultants to validate billing, finance, tax, and accounting data.Support connectivity configuration, authentication, integration testing, defect resolution, and deployment.Prepare technical specifications, field mappings, integration documentation, and handover materials.Required Technical SkillsStrong SAP ABAP development and debugging experience.Hands-on integration experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.Experience with SAP SD and FI-related invoice and tax data structures.Practical knowledge of BAPI, RFC, IDoc, OData, REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.Understanding of SAP integration and enhancement frameworks.Experience with SAP authorization, technical users, certificates, and connectivity troubleshooting.Working knowledge of data mapping, error handling, logging, and reconciliation.Ability to troubleshoot integration issues independently.Preferred QualificationsExperience with e-Invoicing, tax reporting, or regulatory integration projects.Exposure to SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite or PI/PO.Familiarity with regional e-Invoicing requirements, including GCC regulations.Experience working with SAP functional teams on finance and tax requirements.Expected DeliverablesSAP integration design and field-mapping documentation.Developed and configured SAP integration components.End-to-end invoice data extraction and transformation.Successful connectivity and integration testing with the e-Invoicing platform.Error-handling and reconciliation mechanisms.Technical deployment and knowledge-transfer documentation.Experience: 4–7 yearsEngagement Type: Project-Based / Contract, with potential for long-term engagementTechnology: SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, SAP Integration Technologies
