Not eligible for C2C or sponsorship.OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Lead/SAP Developer to support and help evolve our SAP technology landscape, with a focus on S/4HANA, SAP BTP, ABAP, APIs, integrations, and SAP-native solutions. This role will serve as a hands-on technical resource while also providing technical leadership across the SAP environment. The ideal candidate has participated in a significant S/4HANA implementation or transformation, is fluent in how APIs and enterprise integrations work, and can evaluate when to use standard SAP capabilities versus custom development. A key objective is to maximize the use of SAP's native capabilities and minimize unnecessary custom interfaces and point-to-point integrations. Industry experience is not required. Experience in oil & gas, utilities, chemicals, retail, pipeline, or other industries are welcome, but transferable SAP experience is the priority.RESPONSIBILITIESSAP Technical Leadership & S/4HANAProvide hands-on technical leadership across the organization's SAP S/4HANA landscape.Support the technical design, development, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of SAP applications.Participate in S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, transformations, and technical initiatives.Evaluate business and technical requirements and determine whether they can be addressed through standard S/4HANA functionality, SAP-native capabilities, configuration, extensions, or custom development.Help establish scalable and supportable technical patterns across the SAP environment.Partner with functional teams, business stakeholders, developers, vendors, and other IT teams on SAP solutions.ABAP DevelopmentDevelop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain ABAP-based solutions within the S/4HANA environment.Support custom programs, reports, enhancements, interfaces, and other SAP technical objects as needed.Evaluate existing customizations and identify opportunities to simplify or replace custom development with standard SAP functionality.Troubleshoot issues across application, configuration, data, authorization, and code layers.SAP BTP & IntegrationWork with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP Integration Suite/Cloud Integration.Design and support integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications.Understand and work with APIs, REST/SOAP web services, OData, IDocs, RFC, flat files, and other integration patterns.Understand API architecture and how data moves between customer-facing applications, SAP, and third-party systems.Troubleshoot integrations end-to-end, including authentication, authorization, certificates, endpoints, payloads, mappings, data, middleware, and application/code issues.Evaluate existing and proposed interfaces to determine whether a standard SAP capability, API, BTP service, Integration Suite, or Integration Center can eliminate the need for a custom point-to-point solution.Support integrations with systems such as Oracle, GIS, HR/payroll, tax engines, procurement platforms, Datasphere, customer portals, and other enterprise applications.SAP Process & Transformation ToolsExperience with the broader SAP ecosystem is highly valued, particularly:SAP Signavio/Signavio Process Insights – understanding and analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and supporting S/4HANA transformation.SAP Cloud ALM – application lifecycle, implementation, monitoring, and operational support.SAP BTP – platform services, extensions, integrations, APIs, and application capabilities.Tricentis – automated testing and validation within SAP environments.WalkMe – digital adoption and user enablement.LeanIX – SAP/application landscape and enterprise architecture management.Signavio experience is particularly valuable because of the role's focus on understanding business processes and determining how those processes should be supported within the SAP environment.Technical Troubleshooting & OwnershipOwn or support resolution of complex SAP technical issues across multiple applications and platforms.Trace problems across configuration, authorization, data, API, middleware, integration, and application/code layers.Work independently to isolate root causes rather than immediately escalating issues.Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors when specialized development or infrastructure support is required.Document technical solutions, integration patterns, dependencies, and architectural decisions.REQUIRED/CORE EXPERIENCEStrong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.Experience participating in a significant S/4HANA implementation, transformation, or modernization initiative.Strong ABAP development experience.Strong understanding of APIs and enterprise integrations.Experience with SAP BTP.Experience with SAP Integration Suite/Cloud Integration or comparable SAP integration technologies.Ability to understand how SAP interacts with non-SAP enterprise applications.Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to balance standard SAP functionality vs. custom development and recommend the most sustainable technical approach.Strong communication skills and ability to work across functional, technical, and business teams.PREFERRED EXPERIENCESAP Signavio/Signavio Process InsightsSAP Cloud ALMSAP Integration CenterTricentisWalkMeLeanIXExperience integrating SAP with Oracle, GIS, HR/payroll, tax, procurement, customer portals, or other enterprise platforms.Experience serving as a technical lead, application lead, technical architect, or senior SAP developer.
