SAP Transportation Management (TM) Event Management SME

Role: SAP Transportation Management (TM) Event Management SME 10% travel is required, generally every 12 weeks, for PI Planning events.Rockwoods seeking an experienced SAP Transportation Management (TM) Event Management SME to support a large-scale Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS) implementation within a Federal client.The SME will be responsible for designing and supporting transportation event management, milestone tracking, shipment visibility, exception handling, alerts, and operational reporting. This role will work closely with government stakeholders, functional and technical teams, and integration partners to translate transportation requirements into effective SAP solutions.Active Secret clearance is required.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the functional SME for SAP TM Event Management, including milestones, event tracking, exceptions, alerts, and notifications.Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, user stories, and solution designs.Support SAP TM configuration and integration across S/4HANA, EWM, MM, SD, GTS, master data, reporting, and external carrier systems.Provide expertise in freight orders, freight units, transportation planning/execution, shipment tracking, expected/actual events, and exception management.Support functional testing, UAT, defect resolution, deployment, cutover, and transition to operations.Develop process documentation, SOPs, training materials, and user guidance.Identify data quality, integration, adoption, and operational risks and recommend solutions.Work closely with government stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet mission and operational requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.10+ years of SAP, logistics, supply chain, transportation, or enterprise systems experience.5+ years of SAP TM and/or transportation event management experience.Strong experience with transportation milestones, shipment tracking, event management, exceptions, alerts, and visibility.Hands-on experience with SAP TM and S/4HANA and integration with related SAP modules.Experience translating business requirements into functional designs, test scenarios, and process documentation.Experience working in large enterprise, federal environments preferred.Strong communication, analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.DesiredSAP TM CertificationSAP S/4HANA or SAP Logistics CertificationITIL, PMP, Agile, or SAFe certificationExperience with Jira, SAP Solution Manager, Signavio, or similar tools
