SAS AML Technical project Manager

The SAS AML Technical Project Manager role is a contract, on-site position based in Dubai. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) migration program from SAS AML 7.1 to SAS Viya 4. The role will own project planning, execution, governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and successful implementation of the migration in collaboration with SAS, Compliance, AML Operations, Technology, Infrastructure, Security, and other key stakeholders.The Project Manager will act as the single point of accountability for project delivery, ensuring all workstreams are effectively coordinated and executed in accordance with agreed timelines, budget, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and Mashreq's governance framework. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the end-to-end SAS AML migration project from project initiation through production deployment and transition to BAU support.Define and maintain the project plan, milestones, deliverables, resource requirements, dependencies, risks, and budget.Coordinate closely with SAS Professional Services/Implementation Partners, Compliance, AML Operations, Technology, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, Testing, and Business teams to ensure successful delivery.Drive project execution and ensure all stakeholders meet their commitments and deliverables within agreed timelines.Facilitate requirements gathering, solution design discussions, migration planning, testing activities, cutover planning, and production readiness reviews.Manage project governance, including working group meetings, steering committee forums, status reporting, and executive updates.Track and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.Ensure alignment with Mashreq's project governance, architecture standards, information security policies, operational processes, and regulatory requirements.Oversee SIT, UAT, performance testing, defect management, and business sign-offs.Coordinate migration activities and deployment plans to ensure minimal disruption to AML monitoring and compliance operations.Manage vendors and third-party stakeholders, ensuring delivery commitments and contractual obligations are met.Monitor project progress against scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives, taking corrective actions when required.Ensure all project documentation, knowledge transfer activities, operational procedures, and support handover requirements are completed prior to project closure. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.PMP, PRINCE2, Agile certification, or equivalent project management qualification preferred.12+ years of project management experience, including delivery of complex technology transformation or migration initiatives.Experience managing large-scale projects within banking, financial services, or regulated environments.Strong stakeholder management experience with business, compliance, technology, and vendor organizations. Technical SkillsExperience managing SAS-related projects, preferably involving SAS AML, SAS Viya, or financial crime platforms.Strong understanding of application migration and transformation programs.Knowledge of AML systems, compliance processes, and financial crime technology platforms.Familiarity with data migration, system integration, testing, release management, and production deployment processes.
