SAS Platform Developer & Application Support EngineerWork Location : Saudi ArabiaExperience : 4–8 YearsNotice Period : Immediate to maximum 1 monthRole OverviewWe are looking for a SAS Platform Developer & Application Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in the SAS 8.4 analytical platform. The role combines SAS development, data engineering, platform administration, application support, and production troubleshooting.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the SAS platform, developing reliable SAS programs and ETL workflows, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting data scientists, risk analysts, and business users.Candidates with experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Microfinance, particularly in credit risk, loan portfolios, financial reporting, or financial data processing, will be highly preferred.Key Responsibilities1. SAS Platform & Application SupportMonitor the SAS 8.4 platform, application services, jobs, and server performance on a daily basis.Troubleshoot SAS job failures, data processing issues, financial data errors, and connectivity problems.Analyze application and system logs to identify root causes and resolve technical issues.Provide L2/L3 technical support to data scientists, risk analysts, business users, and application teams.Manage SAS users, roles, access permissions, and environment configurations.Support configuration and maintenance of SAS development, testing, and production environments.Coordinate with infrastructure, database, application, and vendor teams for issue resolution.Perform incident analysis, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for recurring production issues.Support application deployments, scheduled jobs, batch processing, and production releases.Ensure platform availability, stability, and performance in accordance with operational requirements.2. SAS DevelopmentDesign, develop, test, and maintain SAS programs, macros, data workflows, and ETL processes.Develop efficient solutions using Base SAS, SAS Macro, PROC SQL, and other relevant SAS procedures.Extract, transform, validate, and load data from multiple relational databases and other data sources.Develop SAS datasets and analytical data models to support business and risk reporting requirements.Review and optimize existing/legacy SAS code to improve performance, scalability, and execution efficiency.Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data-processing activities.Develop and maintain reusable SAS macros and standardized data-processing components.Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.3. Automation & SchedulingAutomate recurring data-processing and operational activities using Unix/Linux shell scripting and scheduling tools.Monitor scheduled/batch SAS jobs and proactively address failures.Support job scheduling, dependencies, restart/recovery procedures, and batch execution.Improve operational efficiency by automating manual support and data-processing activities.4. Production Support & TroubleshootingProvide timely resolution of production incidents involving SAS applications, data, interfaces, and batch processes.Investigate data discrepancies and determine whether issues originate from SAS programs, source systems, databases, or interfaces.Perform impact analysis and communicate technical findings clearly to stakeholders.Maintain appropriate technical documentation, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides.Participate in production support activities and provide assistance during critical incidents when required.Required Technical Skills3–5 years of hands-on experience in SAS development and/or SAS platform/application support.Strong hands-on experience with SAS 8.4 architecture, tools, and environment.Advanced knowledge of:Base SASSAS Macro LanguagePROC SQLSAS data step programmingSAS datasets and data manipulationSAS ETL/data processingStrong SQL skills with experience querying and extracting data from relational databases.Good understanding of database concepts, joins, subqueries, data validation, and performance optimization.Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.Working knowledge of Shell scripting.Experience with SAS job scheduling, batch processing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.Good understanding of application support, incident management, and production troubleshooting.Ability to analyze SAS logs and identify errors/root causes.Banking / Financial Domain ExperienceExperience in the Banking, Financial Services, or Microfinance sector is highly preferred.If interested pls reply with updated cv to balaguru@hastraa.comWRBalaguru
