OverviewJoin a growing and innovative organization as a SCADA Software Technician, where you’ll play a key role in delivering and supporting Ignition-based solutions that drive operational efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of software testing, configuration, and deployment while serving as a critical escalation point for complex technical support issues. Working closely with a distributed engineering team, you’ll help ensure reliable system performance and contribute to developing scalable best practices.In addition to leading software configuration for new customer projects, this role will serve as the Tier 2 software support lead for existing projects—diagnosing complex software-related issues, resolving them when possible, and collaborating with engineering for escalations. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation for SCADA configurations, software features, and support processes to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Testing & Quality AssuranceTest and validate new Ignition features, scripts, and user interface componentsPerform functional, integration, and regression testing in controlled environmentsDocument test cases, results, and release notes for internal and client useSCADA Configuration & DeploymentLead configuration efforts for new client implementations, including tag setup, alarms, historian logging, and dashboardsPartner with field teams during commissioning to ensure successful system performanceTier 2 Software SupportServe as the primary escalation point for advanced software-related support issuesTroubleshoot and resolve configuration, scripting, and integration challengesCollaborate with Tier 1 support to improve troubleshooting processesEscalate complex issues to engineering with clear documentation and replication stepsDocumentation & StandardsDevelop and maintain configuration templates, deployment guides, and troubleshooting documentationTrack system configurations and software updates with accuracyEnsure all documentation remains current and standardized across teamsQualificationsRequired:2–4 years of experience with SCADA software configuration and deploymentStrong proficiency in tag configuration, Python scripting, alarms, and historian setupWorking knowledge of PLC/RTU communications (Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA)Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience creating and maintaining technical documentationPreferred:Ignition certificationExperience in agricultural automation or irrigation systemsFamiliarity with wireless telemetry (LoRa, cellular)Experience with Git/version control and QA workflowsKnowledge of REST API integrationsWhat Success Looks LikeZero major defects after deployment of new Ignition featuresQuick and effective resolution of Tier 2 issuesStandardized, documented, and repeatable configurationsClear guidance available for support and deployment teamsWhy This OpportunityThis role offers the opportunity to take ownership of mission-critical SCADA systems, collaborate with a highly skilled engineering team, and directly impact operational efficiency in a rapidly evolving technical environment.To comply with some state laws, the annual base salary range for this position has been provided.
