This role involves safely operating a school bus to transport students to and from school and related activities, following assigned routes and schedules. The driver conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, monitors road and traffic conditions, and practices defensive driving at all times. Responsibilities include assisting students with boarding and exiting the bus, maintaining order and a respectful environment, and adhering to all local traffic and safety regulations. The driver also communicates clearly with school staff, guardians, and company representatives, completes required logs and reports, and promptly reports any incidents, mechanical issues, or safety concerns.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Truck Driving skills and hold a valid CDL Class B (or equivalent license required for school bus operation).Candidates should possess solid Defensive Driving skills with a consistent focus on safety and compliance with traffic regulations.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with students, guardians, school staff, and company personnel.Candidates should possess quality Customer Service skills to support a positive and respectful experience for students and families.Additional beneficial qualifications include prior school bus or passenger transport experience, a clean driving record, ability to pass background checks and medical evaluations, reliability in attendance and time management, and basic knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures.
