School CounselorAn independent school is seeking a passionate and experienced School Counselor to join its growing faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. We are seeking a counselor who is enthusiastic about supporting students and families while contributing to a collaborative and mission-driven educational community.ResponsibilitiesSupport students’ social-emotional development through individual, small-group, and whole-group counseling and instructionLead social-emotional learning initiatives and professional development for facultyProvide educational support and guidance for parentsUnderstand and address the academic and social-emotional needs of gifted and diverse learnersManage student support services including speech, occupational therapy, gifted education, and related servicesServe as the lead coordinator and primary point of contact for parent support meetingsCollaborate with parents, teachers, specialists, counselors, and external providersMonitor students’ academic and social-emotional progressDevelop support plans and resources tailored to student needsRefer students for educational, psychological, or family support services when appropriateRespond to faculty concerns regarding student needs and provide guidanceCoordinate standardized testing processesMaintain positive relationships with students, families, faculty, and staffEngage in ongoing professional learning and developmentQualificationsMaster’s degree or higher in School Counseling, Guidance, Education, or a related fieldStrong communication, collaboration, and presentation skillsExperience with social-emotional learning curriculum strongly preferredGifted endorsement is a plusAbility to work across multiple academic subject areasPassion for helping children thrive academically and emotionallyCommitment to progressive educational practices and continuous learningStrong problem-solving skills and solution-oriented mindsetExperience in an independent or private school setting preferred
