The district embraces the mission of inspiring students to learn, dream, and achieve.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site School Counselor role located in Bradenton, FL. The School Counselor provides academic, social-emotional, and career guidance to students through individual and group counseling sessions. Responsibilities include assessing student needs, developing and implementing counseling plans, and collaborating with educators, families, and community partners to support student growth. The role involves facilitating classroom guidance lessons, crisis intervention, and referral to appropriate mental health or support services when needed. The School Counselor maintains accurate records, participates in school-wide initiatives, and contributes to a positive, inclusive school climate that aligns with district goals.Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Student Counseling and Counseling to support diverse learners’ academic and social-emotional needs.Competence in Career Counseling to help students explore postsecondary options and develop future education and career plans.Background in Psychology and Mental Health to identify concerns, provide appropriate interventions, and coordinate referrals.Relevant master’s degree in school counseling, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field, and appropriate state certification or licensure.Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills for working with students, families, staff, and community agencies.Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and follow ethical and legal standards in student services.Experience in a K–12 educational setting and familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) are beneficial.
