School Librarian (Bilingual)

The Librarian will be responsible for managing and developing the school library as a welcoming, well-organized, and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will support students and teachers in accessing high-quality resources and promote a strong culture of reading, research, and lifelong learning.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operation and organization of the school library.Develop and maintain an engaging and age-appropriate collection of books and learning resources.Support students in developing reading, research, information-literacy, and independent-learning skills.Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum-related research and learning activities.Organize reading initiatives, library activities, book displays, and literacy events.Maintain accurate records of library resources, loans, returns, and acquisitions.Promote a positive, inclusive, and welcoming library environment.Support students in selecting appropriate books and resources based on their interests and learning needs.Ensure library resources remain current, relevant, and aligned with the school's educational objectives.Contribute to the wider life of the school and support its values and safeguarding expectations.Candidate RequirementsBachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, Education, English, or a related field.Previous experience working as a school librarian or in an educational library environment is preferred.Strong knowledge of library management and information-resource systems.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Passion for reading, literacy, and supporting children's learning.Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and school leadership.Good English communication skills.Experience in an international school environment.
