A clinical psychologist assesses, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They use scientific, evidence-based therapies to help clients cope with severe conditions, trauma, and everyday psychological challenges.Core ResponsibilitiesAssessment: Conduct clinical interviews, behavioral observations, and psychometric/psychological testing to evaluate clients.Diagnosis: Identify psychological and behavioral issues according to clinical standards (e.g., the DSM-5).Treatment: Formulate, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and therapies (e.g., CBT, DBT).Patient Care: Conduct individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions.Collaboration: Coordinate patient care with other healthcare professionals like psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses.Documentation: Keep accurate records of client progress, treatment outcomes, and referrals.Research & Development: Participate in ongoing professional development, case audits, or clinical research.QualificationsEducation: Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) or specialized Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.Licensure: An active DOH / HAAD or DHA license to practice independently in the country.Experience: Supervised clinical practicum hours or years of direct experience.Skills: Strong empathy, crisis management, active listening, and strong communication skills.
