The individual in this role conducts comprehensive psychological assessments, interprets data, and provides recommendations to support student learning and emotional well-being. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to develop and monitor individualized education plans and intervention strategies. The School Psychologist provides counseling and crisis intervention services, consults on behavior and mental health concerns, and promotes positive school climates. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, adhering to ethical and legal standards, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings.QualificationsStrong foundation in Psychology and Mental Health to understand student behavior, learning, and emotional needs.Proficiency in Psychological Assessment to administer, score, and interpret standardized tests and other evaluation tools.Experience in Counseling to provide individual and small-group interventions and support students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges.Relevant knowledge of Medicine as it pertains to developmental, neurological, and behavioral conditions impacting school performance.Master’s or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field, with appropriate state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP processes, and evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions.Strong communication, consultation, and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and community agencies.Ability to manage a varied caseload, maintain detailed records, and use data to inform decisions and supports.
