The school values innovation, equity, and community engagement, creating opportunities for scholars to explore STEM fields and develop leadership skills.Role Description The Science Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Pittsburgh, PA. This educator plans and delivers engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards and the academy’s STEAM-focused mission. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, assessing student work, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student progress. The Science Teacher collaborates with colleagues to integrate science with other STEAM disciplines, differentiates instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and participates in professional development and school-wide initiatives. Additional duties include communicating regularly with families and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture that supports college and career readiness.QualificationsStrong background in Science Education with the ability to teach core scientific concepts and inquiry-based learning.Content knowledge in Physics and Mathematics sufficient to support integrated STEAM instruction.Recognized as a Qualified Teacher with appropriate state certification or licensure in secondary science.Demonstrated skill in Lesson Planning, including designing standards-based, differentiated, and culturally responsive lessons.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field; advanced degree is beneficial.Experience teaching in urban or diverse school settings and commitment to educational equity.Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.Willingness to mentor students, participate in extracurricular or STEM-related activities, and engage
