The lab is guided and managed by distinguished professionals from the judiciary, administration, police, defense, science and technology, corporate, and social service sectors, providing a robust multidisciplinary environment for scientific professionals.Role Description The Scientific Officer role at Truth Labs is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Scientific Officer will conduct forensic examinations, analyses, and scientific investigations in assigned disciplines, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to established protocols and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing laboratory tests, documenting and interpreting results, preparing clear scientific reports, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders and, when required, to external agencies such as law enforcement or legal authorities. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to research and method development, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting the implementation of quality assurance and accreditation requirements. The Scientific Officer may also participate in training initiatives, workshops, and outreach activities to strengthen scientific capacity and promote best practices in forensic science.Qualifications Strong foundation in Science with specialized expertise in Physics or related disciplines relevant to forensic investigations.Demonstrated experience in Research, including designing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to method development or scientific publications.Background in University Teaching or academic instruction is beneficial, especially for contributing to training, workshops, and capacity-building programs.Proficiency in Project Management to plan, coordinate, and deliver forensic casework and research projects within defined timelines and quality parameters.Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Physics, Forensic Science, or a closely related field preferred; bachelor’s degree with substantial relevant experience may be considered.Ability to write clear, structured scientific reports and communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Familiarity with forensic laboratory standards, chain-of-custody procedures, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO-based frameworks) is an advantage.Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail,
