Shift: 8 Am to 4 PMJob Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and talented scientist to join Company’s Chemical Biology and Proteomics group within Discovery Sciences. You will apply proteomics to advance drug discovery. You will work as an integral member of a cross-functional team to interrogate mechanisms of action for therapeutic agents, and to propose and validate biological hypotheses for agents within the cardiovascular, renal and metabolism (CVRM) area.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute discovery proteomic assays using mass spectrometry to support mechanistic studies, Client Client targets, and elucidate biological regulators of disease biology.Perform proximity biotinylation studies in cells, using established automated affinity purification workflows, and data independent acquisition (DIA) mass spectrometry methods.Perform target validation by developing proximity ligation assays (PLA) and cell-based assays to assess protein-protein interactions using chemical tools and confocal microscopy.Generate protein conjugates and characterize protein labeling by UV-Vis spectroscopy.Analyze and interpret experimental data using established bioinformatic pipelines.Maintain detailed and accurate electronic laboratory notebooks.Represent CBP team, and communicate with project discipline leads, and contribute to generation of mechanistic hypothesis through interpretation of proteomics data.Essential Requirements:Ph.D. in Proteomics, Chemical Biology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years of hands-on proteomics experience, including experience gained during doctoral or postdoctoral research. Or Masters degree with 3-5 years of hands-on proteomics experience.Knowledge and hands-on experience with proteomic sample preparation.Experience in mammalian cell culture.Experience employing cell-based and proteomic assays to understand small molecule mechanisms of action.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, contribute to scientific discussions, solve problems, and deliver high-quality results within agreed timelines.Preferred Background:Experience developing or applying proximity ligation assays or related proximity-based protein-protein interaction validation assays.Experience using LC-MS/MS platforms and semi-automated instrumentation.Experience using proteomics search and analysis tools, such as Spectronaut, Proteome Discoverer, MaxQuant, Skyline and Xcalibur.
