SDE 2 - Android (Java)

About The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Android engineer who can take ownership of complex modules within a high scale consumer application. You will design, build, and maintain features that serve millions of daily users, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and code quality. Beyond writing code, you will influence technical decisions, mentor junior engineers, and raise the engineering bar across the team.What You Will DoYou will own end to end delivery of features, from technical design through development, testing, and release. You will architect scalable, modular solutions in a large Java and Kotlin codebase and make sound tradeoffs between speed and long term maintainability. You will drive improvements in app performance, crash rates, ANRs, and app size, using data from analytics and monitoring tools. You will review code, mentor SDE-1 engineers, and contribute to team wide engineering practices. You will work closely with product, design, and backend teams to shape how features are built, not just execute on specs.What We Are Looking For3 to 6 years of professional Android development experienceDeep expertise in Java with strong fundamentals in the Android SDK and application frameworkProven experience designing and shipping features in large, complex, multi module codebasesStrong grasp of architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean ArchitectureHands-on experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimizationExperience with dependency injection, networking layers, and offline first designTrack record of debugging hard production issues using tools like Crashlytics, Perfetto, or Android ProfilerStrong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system designAbility to mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussionsGood to HaveWorking proficiency in Kotlin alongside JavaExperience with Jetpack components, Coroutines, or RxJavaExposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management for large user basesExperience with A/B testing frameworks and feature rollout strategiesContributions to app modularization, build time optimization, or developer toolingSkills: java,android,application,architecture,testing
