As an Software Development Engineer III, you will own critical backend services, influence architecture decisions, mentor engineers and lead the development of platform capabilities that power Goodscore's next phase of growth. You will work closely with Product, Data, Frontend, and Leadership teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions serving millions of users in an early stage startup environment. Key Responsibilities ● Lead architecture and design of large-scale backend systems and platform services ● Drive technical decision-making, design reviews and architecture discussions ● Define engineering standards, best practices and coding guidelines across teams ● Identify and resolve scalability, reliability and performance bottlenecks proactively ● Own technical roadmaps for critical systems and services ● Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure and fault-tolerant backend services ● Optimize system performance, latency, throughput, and infrastructure efficiency ● Lead implementation of mission-critical projects from conception to production ● Mentor and guide SDE-I and SDE-II engineers through code reviews and technical coaching Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement Required Skills ● 5 - 7 years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems in startup ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a tier-1 institute (or equivalent experience). ● Experience working in fast-growing startups or consumer internet companies is highly preferred ● Proficiency in building scalable services using Node.js and/or Python; language-agnostic mindset preferred. ● Expertise in designing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures ● Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar event-streaming platforms ● Strong understanding of system design, scalability, reliability and performance optimization ● Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
