If you want to work for the most exciting digital company in the Middle East and believe you are a good fit keep reading!About the RoleThe Egypt Financial Services team owns and scales financial-services initiatives for the Egypt market. This backend role focuses on building reliable systems across provider integrations, checkout, cart, promotions, order flows, risk controls, and other core commerce areas where financial-services products operate.The engineer will help turn Egypt stakeholder needs into reliable backend systems, ship financial-services features end to end, and build the technical foundation that allows the squad to operate independently with minimal dependency on the Sales/Payments team.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain backend services for Egypt financial-services products, including BNPL/payment-provider integrations, checkout flows, refund/capture/reversal lifecycles, webhook processing, and reconciliation-critical state transitions.Own robust API integrations with external financial providers, including authentication, token management, idempotency, retries, error handling, provider-contract validation, and production-ready observability.Develop event-driven backend workflows using webhooks, Pub/Sub, workers, and async processing to keep orders, payments, refunds, and operational queues consistent across systems.Work across cart, checkout, promotions, discounts, order confirmation, customer, catalog, and payment domains when needed to deliver complete business outcomes.Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with strong data modeling, transaction safety, and clear ownership of edge cases such as duplicate requests, partial refunds, expired sessions, failed webhooks, and provider inconsistencies.Collaborate closely with Product, QA, FE, PD, Sales, and Egypt stakeholders to deliver full features with minimal support from other squads.Improve internal and external technical documentation, especially around provider APIs, state machines, integration contracts, and operational runbooks.
