Security Engineer | Cyber Security | Detection Engineering📍London based, 2 days a week onsite💸Salary up to £80kI'm working with a leading financial services organisation looking to hire a Security Engineer to join its Proactive Security team.This is a hands-on role focused on security engineering, detection engineering, SIEM, threat hunting and automation. You'll help design, deploy and improve security capabilities that strengthen the organisation's cyber resilience.What you'll be doingDesign and optimise security monitoring and detection capabilitiesBuild and maintain SIEM content, detection rules and automated workflowsDevelop threat hunting and detection use cases based on emerging threatsImprove visibility across infrastructure, applications, identities and cloud environmentsDevelop security automation and orchestration capabilitiesSupport logging, monitoring and security tooling projectsWork closely with SOC and incident response teams to improve detection and responseWhat we're looking for5+ years of dedicated Security Engineering experienceStrong SIEM and detection engineering experienceExperience with threat hunting, security monitoring and security automationPowerShell and/or Python scripting skillsExperience with enterprise security technologies including SIEM, EDR and DLPStrong understanding of identity security, Active Directory and authenticationKnowledge of cloud security and enterprise networkingFamiliarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and NISTThis role is best suited to someone with a strong security engineering focus rather than a broad cyber security background.
