Security Engineer

A newly launched, technology-driven hedge fund is looking for a Security Engineer to work as a key technical partner to the CISO and help build the security function from the ground up.This is a genuine greenfield opportunity. You’ll join a small security team with huge ownership and influence over the firm’s security architecture, tooling and strategy. Rather than inheriting legacy systems and established processes, you’ll help decide what gets built and how.Key areas:Build detection & response capabilities, including alerting, threat detection, canaries and honeypots.Design security controls across cloud, infrastructure and applications.Build out IAM, authentication, authorisation and PKI.Develop security tooling and automation.Partner directly with engineering teams to embed security into new systems.Work closely with the CISO to shape the long-term security strategy.We’re looking for someone with strong Security Engineering, Detection & Response, Blue Team or Cloud Security experience who enjoys being hands-on, solving difficult technical problems and building from scratch.A rare opportunity to join a well-funded hedge fund at inception, work directly alongside the CISO, and have genuine ownership over how the security function is built.
