Role DescriptionA Security Guard is responsible for protecting company premises, personnel, visitors, property, equipment, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment. The role performs security patrols, access control, surveillance, incident response, and security monitoring in accordance with company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform regular security patrols and inspections of assigned premises, buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas.Monitor entrances, exits, access points, gates, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access.Verify the identity and authorization of employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel.Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, security equipment, and other surveillance systems where applicable.Maintain accurate records of visitors, vehicles, incidents, patrols, and other security activities.Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, suspicious activities, and safety concerns.Report unauthorized access, theft, damage, vandalism, suspicious behavior, or other security violations to supervisors or relevant authorities.Conduct routine checks of doors, windows, gates, locks, lighting, fire exits, and other security-related facilities.Assist with crowd control, traffic management, parking control, and emergency evacuation procedures where required.Ensure restricted areas and sensitive facilities remain secure and properly controlled.Monitor incoming and outgoing vehicles, goods, equipment, and materials in accordance with company procedures.Support access control procedures for employees, contractors, visitors, and service providers.Assist with emergency response activities, including fire, accidents, medical emergencies, and other incidents.Preserve the security of evidence, incident areas, and relevant information when required.Coordinate with management, employees, emergency services, law enforcement, and other relevant personnel when necessary.Enforce company security policies, site regulations, and safety procedures professionally and consistently.Maintain proper use, storage, and condition of security equipment, communication devices, access-control systems, and other assigned tools.Prepare and submit incident reports, shift reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation accurately.Maintain confidentiality of security-related information and company activities.Remain alert and maintain a professional security presence throughout assigned shifts.Support security audits, investigations, emergency drills, and continuous improvement of site security procedures.Maintain high standards of security awareness, safety, discipline, integrity, and professional conduct.QualificationsMinimum secondary school education or equivalent.Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, facility management, or a related field is advantageous.Valid security guard license or certification as required by applicable local regulations.Basic knowledge of security procedures, access control, surveillance, emergency response, and incident reporting.Ability to operate CCTV systems, alarms, radios, access-control systems, and other security equipment where applicable.Strong observation, situational awareness, and attention-to-detail skills.Good communication, interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions during emergencies or stressful situations.Physically fit and able to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods.Good personal integrity, honesty, discipline, and sense of responsibility.Ability to follow security procedures, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations.Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a security team.Ability to work shifts, nights, weekends, public holidays, and in demanding operational environments.Professional, reliable, alert, disciplined, safety-conscious, and security-oriented.
