Its work is widely recognized and supported by major foundations and has earned multiple “Best Theatre” and “Best Improv Troupe” awards in Atlanta publications.Role Description The Security Guard is a full-time, on-site role located at Dad’s Garage Theatre Company in Atlanta, GA. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, performers, and staff during shows, workshops, rehearsals, and special events. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring entrances and exits, performing routine security rounds, and overseeing crowd flow before, during, and after performances. The Security Guard responds to incidents, enforces theatre safety policies, and coordinates with staff and local authorities when necessary. The role also involves providing courteous assistance to patrons, answering basic questions, and supporting front-of-house operations to ensure a welcoming and secure experience for all visitors.Qualifications Strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to engage respectfully with diverse audiences, staff, and performers.Experience with Physical Security practices, including monitoring facilities, managing access points, and conducting routine patrols.Background in Personnel Security or Private Security, with familiarity in handling incidents, de-escalation, and reporting procedures.Ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and follow established safety protocols.Prior experience in entertainment, hospitality, or public-facing environments is beneficial.Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with theatre performance schedules.High school diploma or equivalent; security-related training, certification, or licensure (where required by local regulations) is an asset.
