Applicants join an organization focused on proactive security solutions and continuous professional development.Role Description The Security Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Boise, ID. The Security Officer will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and observe CCTV or other surveillance systems to deter and detect suspicious activity. Daily responsibilities include managing visitor and employee access, responding to alarms and incidents, drafting clear incident reports, and communicating effectively with supervisors, clients, and emergency responders. The role also involves enforcing site-specific security procedures, conducting safety checks, and supporting crowd management or special events as needed. Security Officers are expected to maintain a professional presence, follow all legal and regulatory requirements, and uphold Fortis Protection Group’s standards for discretion, reliability, and customer service.Qualifications Demonstrated experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related protective services, with strong situational awareness and threat assessment abilities.Proficiency in access control, patrol techniques, basic CCTV and alarm monitoring, and incident reporting practices.Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact respectfully with diverse individuals and document events accurately.Strong judgment, integrity, and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm, composed, and objective under pressure.Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and to respond quickly to emergencies in various environments and weather conditions.Familiarity with de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and customer-service oriented security practices.Ability to work on-site in Boise, ID on a full-time schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; eligibility to obtain and maintain any required state or local security licenses or certifications.Basic computer skills for using security software, incident management tools, email, and digital reporting systems.Prior experience in corporate, event, or executive protection environments is beneficial; multilingual capabilities are a plus.
