The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring assigned premises, conducting regular patrols, and reporting any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches. Daily tasks include controlling access to facilities, verifying credentials, enforcing site policies, and providing a visible security presence to deter potential threats. The role involves completing detailed incident and activity reports, cooperating with local law enforcement or emergency services when needed, and responding promptly to alarms or calls for assistance. Security Officers are expected to maintain professional conduct, ensure customer and visitor safety, and follow all company procedures and legal regulations.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong situational awareness, risk assessment abilities, and sound judgment in high-pressure or rapidly changing environments.Candidates should possess effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate conflicts professionally and interact courteously with clients, visitors, and team members.Candidates should possess basic report-writing, documentation, and observation skills, including accurate recording of incidents, events, and patrol findings.Candidates should possess physical fitness sufficient for foot patrols, standing for extended periods, and responding quickly to emergencies.Candidates should possess knowledge of general security procedures, access control practices, and emergency response protocols.Candidates should possess the ability to follow established policies, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate effectively within a security team.Candidates should possess a valid security guard license for the State of Florida (or ability to obtain), and must be legally authorized to work in the United States.Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is strongly preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.Basic computer literacy and familiarity with security systems, such as surveillance cameras, access control devices, and alarm panels, are beneficial.
