Security Officer - LogisticsJob SummaryPCC Logistics is seeking professional, dependable, and highly observant Security Officers to provide comprehensive gate security, access control, foot patrols, trailer yard inspections, and refrigerated trailer (reefer) monitoring. Officers are responsible for protecting client property by controlling facility access, processing commercial vehicle traffic, conducting scheduled patrols, monitoring refrigerated equipment, documenting site activities, and responding appropriately to emergencies and security incidents.The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, professionalism, excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while following detailed post orders and client-specific procedures.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Security ResponsibilitiesMaintain a professional and visible security presence at all times.Protect client property, personnel, equipment, and assets.Follow all client and company policies, procedures, and post orders.Maintain accurate documentation throughout each shift.Communicate effectively with Dispatch, Management, and client representatives.Report emergencies, security concerns, and safety hazards immediately.Gate Officer ResponsibilitiesAccess ControlMonitor all vehicle and pedestrian entrances and exits.Remain assigned to the guard booth except when performing gate-related duties.Verify employee, contractor, visitor, and vendor credentials prior to granting access.Control all facility access in accordance with company policies.Maintain accurate records of all entries and exits.Beginning of ShiftReceive a pass-down from the outgoing security officer or PCC employee.Review pending appointments and scheduled deliveries.Verify all required equipment is available.Ensure the Panasonic Toughbook scanner is operational.Report equipment or scanner issues immediately to Management.Employee AccessProcess employee access using Panasonic Toughbook scanners.Utilize QR Code, Barcode, RFID, or NFC technology.Complete manual employee logs when electronic scanners are unavailable.Contact PCC Management for approval of all new or temporary employees.Record every employee entry and exit, including life and property while maintaining officer safety.Complete all required incident documentation following emergency responses.QualificationsPrevious security experience preferred.Valid California Guard Card required.Strong observation and situational awareness skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to prepare accurate reports and documentation.Ability to follow detailed post orders and client procedures.Professional appearance and customer service skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to stand, walk, and conduct foot patrols
