The Security Officer will be responsible for safeguarding customers, colleagues, and property by monitoring the site, conducting patrols, and responding to security incidents and alarms. Daily tasks include controlling access to the premises, checking passes or authorizations, and ensuring adherence to site rules and safety procedures. The role involves operating CCTV and other security systems, completing incident reports and logbooks, and liaising with emergency services or site management when required. The Security Officer will also provide a visible, professional security presence, support a safe customer experience, and contribute to maintaining a clean, orderly, and compliant environment.Qualifications Strong situational awareness and vigilance, with the ability to identify and respond to potential security risks.Experience in on-site security, facilities protection, or a similar role within retail, commercial, or public environments.Effective communication and customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with the public, clients, and colleagues.Ability to maintain accurate records, incident reports, and logs, with good written and basic IT skills.Capacity to work a rotating 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays as required.Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team, following site procedures and company policies.Good level of physical fitness suitable for regular patrolling and standing for extended periods.Valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence (or equivalent) and right to work in the UK; first aid training is an advantage.Understanding of health and safety practices and emergency response protocols within a busy public environment.Commitment to OCS TRUE values—Trust, Respect, Unity, and Empowerment—and
