Security Officers are responsible for safeguarding people, property, and assets by monitoring entrances and exits, conducting regular patrols, and reporting any suspicious activities or security breaches. Daily tasks include enforcing access control procedures, checking identification or visitor logs, and ensuring compliance with safety and security policies. Security Officers will respond to incidents, support emergency procedures, and provide clear documentation through incident and shift reports. The role also involves maintaining a professional presence, communicating with clients, guests, and team members, and collaborating with other security personnel to uphold a secure environment.Qualifications Demonstrated experience in security, guarding, or protective services, preferably in commercial, hospitality, or educational environments.Strong observation, situational awareness, and basic risk assessment skills to identify and respond to potential threats or incidents.Effective communication skills, including clear verbal reporting and concise written documentation of incidents and daily activities.Ability to follow security protocols, access control procedures, and emergency response guidelines with attention to detail and consistency.Physical fitness adequate for standing, patrolling, and responding quickly to incidents, as well as maintaining alertness throughout shifts.Professional, calm demeanor under pressure, with strong ethics, integrity, and respect for diverse individuals and communities.Basic familiarity with security tools or technologies (e.g., CCTV monitoring, radios, access control systems) is an advantage.Relevant security training, certification, or license in Nigeria is preferred; prior experience in Port Harcourt, Lagos, or Abuja is an added benefit.Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by client needs, and to adhere to Darex Security’s policies and standards.
