Senior Account Officer

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Account Officer – US Accounting to support accounting operations for US CPA firms and accounting clients. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in bookkeeping, financial accounting, General Ledger (GL), Record-to-Report (R2R) processes, and client communication. This role involves handling end-to-end accounting activities, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting client engagements while maintaining high-quality service delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting activities for US CPA firms and accounting clients.Perform bookkeeping, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank and credit card reconciliations.Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.Support month-end and year-end closing activities.Prepare financial statements, management reports, and account reconciliations.Ensure compliance with US GAAP and client-specific accounting requirements.Coordinate with clients to resolve accounting queries and gather required information.Maintain accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records.Assist in process improvements and maintain accounting documentation and SOPs.Support junior team members by providing guidance on accounting processes and best practices.Tools & Software ExposureQuickBooks Online/DesktopXeroSage / IntacctBill.com, Gusto, ADP (Preferred)Advanced Microsoft ExcelRequired SkillsStrong knowledge of US GAAP, Financial Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, and R2R processes.Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.Experience working with US CPA firms or outsourced accounting clients.Strong communication and client-handling skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.CA Inter, M.Com, MBA Finance, CPA (Preferred), or equivalent accounting qualification.
