About the opportunityWe’re partnering with a growing global infrastructure and construction business with a well-established international footprint and a rapidly expanding Australian arm.Their Australian operation is rapidly scaling, with a strong pipeline of work and a small, close-knit team based in Wangaratta. This creates a unique opportunity to join at a formative stage, with the backing, systems and support of a larger global group.The roleThis is a stand-alone Senior Accountant position where you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function in Australia with global support when needed. You’ll be responsible for everything from payroll and payables through to compliance, reporting and working with external providers.It’s a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is comfortable working in a growing business where processes are still evolving.We are looking for this Sr Accountant position to be based on-site in Wangaratta.Key responsibilitiesManage end-to-end payroll, working closely with an outsourced provider and ensuring accuracy across pay, tax and recordsOversee accounts payable, including invoice processing, supplier queries, payment runs and reconciliationsMaintain accounts receivable, supporting billing, collections and cash flow visibilitySupport GST compliance and reporting, including BAS submissionsEnsure adherence to local regulatory requirements and financial controlsPrepare month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and support audit processesWork closely with the wider global finance team on reporting, intercompany activity and ad hoc finance supportSupport cash flow forecasting and general financial planningAct as the key finance contact locally for suppliers, auditors and external stakeholdersWhat we’re looking forAround 5+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting roleStrong experience across payroll and accounts payableGood understanding of Australian tax, GST and compliance requirementsExperience with Excel and ERP systemsBackground in construction, engineering or project-based environments would be advantageousCPA qualified or working towards it is preferred but not essentialWhy applyOpportunity to take full ownership of the finance function in AustraliaJoin a business at an early stage of growth with the backing of a global groupBroad, varied role with real responsibility from day oneDirect exposure to international finance teams and processes
