Location: Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaIndustry: Real EstateEmployment Type: Full-TimeJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting financial reporting and closing processes, and maintaining compliance with Saudi regulations, IFRS, VAT, and ZATCA requirements.The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, excellent analytical skills, and preferably previous experience within the real estate, property development, construction, or related sectors in Saudi Arabia.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and review day-to-day accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger accounts, and supporting schedules.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities in accordance with established timelines.Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow information.Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unusual items.Review and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, advances, accruals, prepayments, and other balance sheet accounts.Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and ensure proper capitalization, depreciation, transfer, and disposal of assets.Monitor customer and supplier accounts and ensure balances are properly reconciled.Support cash flow monitoring and provide relevant financial information to management.Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and budget-versus-actual variance analyses.Prepare financial schedules and analyses required for management decision-making.Ensure accounting transactions comply with IFRS and applicable Saudi accounting and regulatory requirements.Support the preparation, review, and reconciliation of VAT returns and other applicable tax-related requirements.Ensure compliance with ZATCA regulations, including VAT and e-invoicing requirements.Coordinate with external auditors and provide required financial records, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documents.Support internal audit activities and implementation of audit recommendations.Maintain proper accounting documentation and ensure records are complete and audit-ready.Review accounting entries prepared by junior accounting team members when required.Identify accounting discrepancies, control weaknesses, and process improvement opportunities.Support the Finance Manager/CFO in financial analysis and other finance-related assignments.Ensure compliance with the company's financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and approval authorities.Assist in improving and automating accounting and financial reporting processes.Real Estate Accounting ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate accounting records for real estate projects and developments.Monitor and analyze project costs, contractor payments, consultants' fees, and other development expenditures.Reconcile project-related accounts and ensure costs are allocated to the appropriate projects and cost centers.Support the financial monitoring of project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and variances.Coordinate with Project Management, Procurement, and other departments to verify financial information related to projects and contracts.Assist in accounting for properties, development costs, investment properties, and other real estate-related transactions, where applicable.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred.Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting capacity.Previous experience in the real estate, property development, or construction sector is highly preferred.Good knowledge of IFRS and Saudi accounting practices.Strong knowledge of VAT, ZATCA regulations, and Saudi e-invoicing requirements.Strong experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial closing, and financial reporting.Experience with ERP/accounting systems; experience with Odoo, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems is an advantage.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Arabic and English proficiency is preferred.Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong accounting and financial reporting skills.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to analyze financial discrepancies and identify root causes.Strong reconciliation and account-review skills.Good understanding of financial controls and accounting procedures.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.Strong communication and coordination skills.High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professional ethics.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a Finance team.
