This position is primarily responsible for general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, consolidated financial reporting, cash forecasting and intercompany activity across multiple entities.This is not an overly technical accounting environment, but it is a complex operating environment with numerous entities, systems, stakeholders and moving pieces. The right person will enjoy digging into details while understanding how their work connects to the broader organization.Responsibilities:Own general ledger and monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.Lead preparation of year-end financial information provided to the outside tax firm.Prepare timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.Consolidate financial results across multiple businesses and accounting systems.Analyze financial results and business metrics for management.Prepare bank reconciliations and regular cash forecasts.Track expenditures against forecast and support intercompany funding requirements.Manage intercompany charges, settlements, reconciliations, and allocations.Coordinate HR and benefits administration with outside benefits partners.Process payroll and related accounting entries.Support budgeting and forecasting in partnership with operational management.Prepare actual-versus-budget variance analysis.Support accounting and administration related to property leasing.Assist with fixed-asset and capital-level accounting.Develop internal controls, process documentation, and process improvements.Support finance leadership with special projects, ad-hoc requests, and strategic initiatives.Develop strong working relationships with leaders across independently operated business groups.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.Strong general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliation experience.Experience preparing financial statements and working within GAAP.Experience working with multiple entities and/or accounting systems.Strong Microsoft Office skills.CPA/CMA or progress toward certification preferred.Payroll and HR administration experience preferred.Property leasing experience preferred.Familiarity with internal controls/SOX principles preferred.What We're Looking For:Hands-on accountant who isn't afraid to get into the weeds.Self-starter who takes responsibility and follows through.Collaborative team player who proactively communicates across departments.Comfortable managing numerous priorities and shifting between them.Organized enough to operate effectively in an environment with a bit of "organized chaos."Detail-oriented while still understanding the larger objective.Flexible, dependable, and comfortable learning unfamiliar areas.Interested in growing responsibilities as the organization continues to evolve.Interested in hearing more?
