Joining Mensho Tokyo offers opportunities to contribute to a growing hospitality brand and support its expansion into new markets, including the Greater Melbourne Area.Role Description The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations for Mensho Tokyo’s locations, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This full-time on-site role, based in the Greater Melbourne Area, includes responsibilities such as managing general ledger entries, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, and performing account reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will monitor cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting, and review revenue, expense, and inventory records specific to restaurant operations. The role also involves coordinating with external auditors, ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and tax regulations, and implementing process improvements. In addition, the Senior Accountant will partner with operations leadership to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and maintain internal controls.Qualifications Strong expertise in general accounting, including ledger management, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business planning and operational decisions.Knowledge of tax compliance, local accounting regulations, and audit coordination within a multi-location or hospitality environment.Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, with the ability to analyze data and present clear financial reports.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with operations, management, and external partners.Previous experience in restaurants, hospitality, or retail accounting is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
