The team is committed to “going the extra mile” so clients can concentrate on running and scaling their businesses while relying on dependable, high-quality support.Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Accountant supporting SecondMile and its client portfolio. The Senior Accountant will oversee general ledger activities, prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensure accurate and timely closing of the books. Daily responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank and account reconciliations, monitoring cash flow, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The role will also involve maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards, assisting with audits, implementing process improvements, and providing clear financial analysis and reports to management and client stakeholders. Collaboration with cross-functional and client teams will be essential to resolve accounting queries and support informed business decisions.QualificationsStrong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow monitoring to support strategic decision-making.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar), Excel, and other financial reporting tools.Solid understanding of relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP) and compliance, with prior audit support experience preferred.Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate effectively with international teams.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly beneficial.Previous experience in a senior accounting role, preferably supporting SMEs or working in an outsourcing/offshore services context.
