Employment Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleA well-established engineering consultancy based in Jeddah, serving industrial, commercial and public-sector clients across the Kingdom, is hiring a Senior Accountant to run the company's accounting as the sole accountant, end to end: client invoicing and collections, supplier payments, payroll, statutory filings and the monthly close, with management approval of payments.

The role also supports the accounting of the group's smaller entities.This is a hands-on position for someone who has already run a company's books on their own, knows the Saudi requirements from practice, and does not need a finance manager above them.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue and receivables- Issue tax invoices in Odoo against purchase orders and sale orders, following each contract's billing terms (advance, milestone, monthly or per visit), with the correct project code and supporting documents.- Keep the receivables ledger current, prepare client statements of account, follow up overdue invoices with project managers and clients, and record receipts.- Track work delivered but not yet invoiced against contract terms and raise it for billing.Payables and treasury- Process supplier invoices, staff expense claims, per diems and salary advances with proper documentation and approvals.- Initiate payments and transfers on the bank platform for approval; manage petty cash and the company card.- Reconcile all bank accounts monthly.Payroll and employee settlements- Prepare the monthly payroll sheet for approval and process salary transfers through the Wage Protection System, coordinating with HR on joiners, leavers and changes.- Calculate leave settlements and end-of-service benefits under the Saudi Labour Law.- Prepare GOSI contributions and reconcile them to payroll.Statutory and compliance- Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns with ZATCA and keep invoicing compliant with ZATCA e-invoicing requirements.- Calculate, file and pay withholding tax on payments to non-resident suppliers.- Support the annual Zakat return and other ZATCA requirements.Close and reporting- Own the month-end and year-end close: journal entries, accruals and prepayments, fixed assets and depreciation, intercompany and related-party balances.- Produce monthly management reports: receivables ageing, cash position, revenue by project and unbilled work.- Prepare the year-end file and work with the external auditor through to signed financial statements.Group support and systems- Support the accounting of the group's smaller entities as required, including intercompany reconciliations.- Operate Odoo Accounting as the system of record (customer and vendor invoices, payments, bank statements, analytic accounts by project), keep master data clean, and work with the Odoo administrator on configuration issues. Pre-2026 records are held in Zoho.Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.- Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in Saudi Arabia and at least 2 years running a company's books end to end as the sole or senior accountant.- Working knowledge, from practice, of Saudi VAT, ZATCA e-invoicing, withholding tax, Zakat, GOSI, WPS and the Labour Law rules on leave and end-of-service.- Hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting, 2 years or more.- Strong Excel.- Arabic and English, written and spoken. Government, bank and most internal correspondence is in Arabic; contracts and client correspondence are often in English.- Accurate, organised, and able to run a monthly calendar without supervision.Preferred Qualifications- Experience in a project-based or professional services company, invoicing against milestones and purchase orders.- SOCPA membership or a professional qualification (SOCPA, CPA, ACCA or CMA).- Transferable iqama for candidates already in the Kingdom, and availability to start within 30 days.
