Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit, TGS Romania emphasizes trust, effective communication, and well-balanced pricing to build long-term, win-win relationships with clients.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant role based in Bucharest, Romania. The Senior Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, and supporting audit processes. The role involves analyzing financial data, identifying variances, and providing recommendations to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost control. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients, supervise or mentor junior accounting staff, and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures and reporting practices.Qualifications Strong proficiency in general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.Solid knowledge of Romanian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.Experience with accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.Ability to review, interpret, and analyze financial data to support decision-making and process improvements.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including mentoring junior team members.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CECCAR, ACCA) are an advantage.Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an audit, accounting, or consulting firm.Fluency in Romanian and good command of English, both written and spoken.
