Apply & track with Apply EdgeSenior AccountantDammam, Saudi Arabia | On-site | Saudi NationalsA well-established and diversified Saudi group is strengthening its Finance function as part of a wider growth and transformation programme and is looking to appoint experienced Senior Accountants.This opportunity is suited to technically strong, hands-on accountants who can demonstrate genuine General Ledger and month-end accounting ownership, alongside specialist experience within areas such as Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets & Inventory and wider GL accounting.This is not a transactional accounting position. We are looking for candidates who understand the accounting treatment behind transactions and can confidently explain and independently manage journals, accruals, reconciliations and period-end adjustments.Key ResponsibilitiesTake hands-on responsibility for General Ledger accounting and month-end close.Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments and adjusting entries.Perform and review balance-sheet and GL reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.Ensure costs and revenues are recognised in the correct accounting period.Support accounting activities across multiple sites, branches or business units.Take specialist responsibility across areas such as AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory and/or other GL accounts.Manage asset accounting including capitalisation, depreciation, CWIP, transfers and disposals where applicable.Support inventory accounting including reconciliations, valuation, provisions, slow-moving/obsolete stock and adjustments.Support AR accounting including invoicing, ageing, collections, reconciliations, provisions and month-end close where applicable.Maintain strong financial controls, supporting schedules and audit-ready documentation.Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Projects, Stores and other Finance teams.What We're Looking For6–8+ years of relevant accounting experience, with genuine Senior Accountant-level responsibility.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related financial discipline.Strong hands-on General Ledger and month-end close experience.Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments, journals and balance-sheet reconciliations.Ability to confidently explain the debit and credit treatment behind accounting transactions.Strong understanding of the Chart of Accounts and Trial Balance.Experience supporting multiple sites, branches, entities or business units – essential.Strong ERP experience; SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar preferred.Strong Excel skills.Saudi National.What Will Differentiate YouWe are particularly interested in candidates who have personally dealt with complex accounting situations and can demonstrate why an accounting treatment was applied, rather than simply following an established process.Experience across areas such as CWIP/project accounting, asset capitalisation, borrowing costs, inventory provisions, revenue/cost recognition, accruals and period-end adjustments will be particularly valuable.Specific industry experience is not essential. The priority is strong technical accounting capability and experience operating across a complex, multi-site or multi-business environment.
