Senior Accountant

About the CompanyWe are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in construction contracting to join our finance team.About the RoleThe ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in construction project accounting, financial monitoring, and team leadership.ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting and AnalysisPrepare monthly financial reports, project cost reports, and financial statements.Monitor and analyze project costs, budgets, and financial performance.Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management.Project AccountingMonitor subcontractor payments, supplier invoices, and material costs.Track advances, retentions, and project budgets.Maintain accurate records of all project-related financial transactions.Conduct regular project cost analysis and variance reporting.Team LeadershipLead and supervise junior accountants.Allocate tasks, review work, and ensure quality and accuracy.Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.Ensure timely completion of all accounting functions.Compliance and ControlsEnsure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.Coordinate with external auditors during audits.QualificationsQualification: Chartered Accountant (CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent).Required SkillsExperience: Strong experience in construction project accounting and financial monitoring.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in preparing monthly financial reports, project cost reports, and financial statements.Experience monitoring subcontractor payments, supplier invoices, material costs, advances, retentions, and project budgets.Leadership: Ability to lead junior accountants, allocate tasks, review work, and ensure timely reporting.Software: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
