Senior Accountant - EU Accounting

ART is looking for an Temporary Accounting Expert to join our Accounting Team in Dubai, working on the accounting of our Belgian operations. The Accounting Expert is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable & receivable and daily bank management, thereby ensuring the continuity of the financial administration during the absence of a regular colleague. You are part of the accounting team and work closely with the other members of this team, as well as with colleagues in Belgium. Given the interim nature of the position, a short onboarding period is foreseen, followed by independent follow-up of the assigned tasks. Tasks and responsibilities Processing accounts payable: entering invoices, following up on payments, and reconciling supplier accounts. Processing accounts receivable: follow-up on outstanding amounts. Daily bank management: processing bank transactions and reconciling bank accounts. Accurately and promptly recording financial documents in accordance with internal procedures. Reporting any uncertainties, discrepancies, or backlogs to the rest of the accounting team. Where applicable: supporting VAT processing. Position details Department: Accounting Team Location: Dubai office (UAE), working remotely for the Belgian accounting department Level: senior profile preferred Contract type: temporary contract (4 - 6 months, extensions are possible) Employment rate: full-time Work schedule to be agreed with the accounting team, preferably aligned with the European time zone (CET) RequirementsEducation and experience Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Commerce preferred. Several years of experience as an Accounting Expert (senior profile), given that this is a temporary replacement requiring rapid independence. A recognized bookkeeping or accounting qualification (BIBF/ITAA, ACCA or equivalent) is a plus. Knowledge and hard skills Thorough knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Experience with bank management and bank transactions. Experience with Business Central and/or Continia is a must. Experience with Belgian GAAP is a strong plus. Knowledge of Peppol and (Belgian) VAT processing & legislation is a plus. Proficient use of accounting software and MS Office (Excel in particular). Proficient level of spoken and written English. Any knowledge of Dutch is a plus. Soft skills Accurate and strong with figures. Independent and quickly operational. Flexible in terms of scheduling. Good communication skills within a team. Discreet in handling financial and confidential data. Availability Able to align working hours with the European time zone (CET). Based in or able to work from our Dubai office.
