Senior Advisor - Environmental and Social Compliance 15/6 FIFO, Nolans Project, Northern Territory Go beyond. Leave a legacy. Arafura is developing the Nolans Project, Australia's first integrated ore-to-oxide processing facility in the Northern Territory, a greenfield operation producing the rare earths that will enable the global energy transition and future technologies. We are moving into delivery and construction, and we are looking for a Senior Advisor reporting to the Site Manager to own environmental and social compliance assurance for the Owner's Team on site. This is a 15/6 FIFO role based at Nolans, on the ground where the work is happening. Nolans is being built under an EPCM model with a small Owner's Team. The EPCM and its contractors do the work. Arafura holds the obligations: approvals and licence conditions, lender commitments including IRMA and the IFC Performance Standards, and the commitments we have made to Traditional Owners and to communities in the Northern Territory. This is a second line assurance role. Our Environment and Approvals team sets the standard through the management system, the approvals and the reporting. You verify that the standard is being applied in practice on site. What you'll deliver A planned program of field verification, inspections and audits across the Areas, weighted to the conditions and commitments that carry the greatest consequence Verification that environmental controls are implemented and working A clear line of sight from approvals conditions, licence requirements and lender commitments through to the controls and the evidence on site Assurance that contractor conduct requirements, cultural awareness training and site access protocols are being applied, and that community and local content commitments are being met Compliance registers, audit coordination, findings tracked to closure, and evidence that stands up to regulator, lender and insurer scrutiny What you'll bring Demonstrated experience verifying compliance and contractor performance on major resources, infrastructure, energy or industrial construction projects Experience working within an Owner's Team on EPCM led projects, ideally in a second line assurance role Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals frameworks and compliance obligations. Commonwealth and Northern Territory experience is highly regarded Experience verifying compliance against an externally audited standard, and preparing evidence that stands up to independent review Experience in social performance, community commitments, or working alongside Traditional Owners and Aboriginal organisations Able to hold a clear line on standards while leaving the work with the people accountable for it, and to bring people with you through credibility and strong working relationships If this role sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
