HCLTech is looking for a highly talented and self-motivated Senior AI Engineer to join it in advancing the technological world through innovation and creativity.Job Title: Senior AI EngineerJob ID: (156094)Position Type: Full-timeLocation: New York, NY (Onsite)Role/ResponsibilitiesConduct research and development on emerging AI/ML technologies, architectures, and frameworks.Design, develop, and deploy AI/LLM and Agentic AI applications for proof-of-concept initiatives and production-scale implementations.Build and manage APIs, integrations, and AI-powered workflows across enterprise platforms.Evaluate, benchmark, and optimize large language models (OpenAI GPT, Google AI, Claude, and similar technologies).Develop prompt engineering strategies to improve model performance, reliability, and business outcomes.Design AI architectures utilizing embeddings, vector databases, retrieval systems, and modern AI frameworks.Collaborate on data preparation, synthetic data generation, and experimentation strategies.Validate AI model performance, safety, scalability, and operational readiness before production deployment.Deploy and manage AI solutions within cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.Evaluate third-party AI products and platforms for scalability, business value, and enterprise adoption.Stay current with advancements in Generative AI, Agentic AI, and traditional AI technologies while evangelizing best practices across teams.Partner closely with AI Business Partners, product teams, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.Level of EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.Strong programming experience in Python and API development.Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, including Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI GPT, Google AI, Claude, or similar technologies.Experience with AI development tools and frameworks such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code, LangChain, ADK, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot.Strong understanding of embeddings, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and modern AI architecture patterns.Experience in prompt engineering, model evaluation, testing, and optimization.Experience designing and deploying AI-powered applications and integrations.Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prototype innovative AI solutions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Desired QualificationsExperience building Agentic AI applications and autonomous AI workflows.Experience deploying AI solutions in enterprise-scale production environments.Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI, model safety, and compliance practices.Familiarity with synthetic data generation techniques.Experience evaluating and integrating third-party AI platforms and services.Exposure to MLOps, LLMOps, and AI model monitoring frameworks.Pay and BenefitsPay Range Minimum: $120,000 per yearPay Range Maximum: $180,000 per yearHCL is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, religion, sex, color, age, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, physical disability or genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with federal, state, and/or local law.
