Senior AI Engineer | Applied AI & Intelligent Systems Munich | Hybrid | Permanent German Speaking role Salary Range: €90,000 - €110,000 The OpportunityWe are partnering with a Series A-funded AI company building intelligent software for complex business environments.This is an opportunity to join a small, highly capable engineering team where AI is central to the product, not an experimental side project.You will work across software engineering and applied AI, taking ideas from early concept through to production. The focus is on building systems that solve real problems, work reliably with real-world data and create measurable value.This is a hands-on role with significant ownership. You will have the freedom to shape how new AI capabilities are designed, built and deployed in production.What you'll doBuild and ship AI-powered products and features from concept through to productionDesign backend services, APIs, data pipelines and intelligent workflowsWork with real-world structured and unstructured dataDevelop Agentic AI agents and LLM-powered applicationsIntegrate AI capabilities into existing software and business workflowsExperiment with different models, tools and approaches, then turn what works into reliable production systemsBuild systems that can reason, retrieve information, use tools and take actionsWork closely with product and engineering colleagues to turn ambiguous problems into practical technical solutionsMonitor, evaluate and continuously improve AI systems once they are in productionUse modern AI development tools to accelerate how you build and iterateTake genuine ownership of technical decisions rather than simply implementing ticketsWhat we're looking forWe're looking for an engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with genuine hands-on experience building AI systems.You don't need to come from a traditional ML background. What matters is that you can build software and understand how to use modern AI technologies to create production-ready solutions.You'll ideally have:Strong experience with Python OR TypeScriptGood working knowledge of SQL + Vector databases.Experience building production software, APIs or backend systemsHands-on experience with LLMs and modern AI APIsExperience building AI-powered applications, agents or intelligent workflowsAn understanding of how to work with real-world dataStrong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to engineeringThe ability to operate comfortably when requirements aren't perfectly definedA genuine interest in how AI can change the way software is builtStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersFluent German is a mustBased in or willing to work from Munich on a hybrid basis.You should care about writing software that is maintainable, reliable and scalable.The expectation isn't simply to get an AI prototype working. You'll need to think about architecture, reliability, observability, testing and what happens when the system meets real users and real data. We are looking for somebody with 6 months’ worth of productionised based agentic AI / Multi-Agent Orchestration.
