Senior AI Engineer- Romania

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced Artificial Intelligence solutions in a production environment. The role combines strong software engineering skills with expertise in Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-powered applications.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building scalable AI solutions, taking models and prototypes from experimentation through production, and working closely with data scientists, software engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement scalable AI and Machine Learning solutions for real-world business use cases.Develop and integrate Generative AI and LLM-based applications.Build AI-powered solutions using techniques such as RAG, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, and agentic workflows.Evaluate and select appropriate AI/ML models, frameworks, and technologies based on business and technical requirements.Develop production-ready AI services and integrate them with existing applications and enterprise systems.Design and implement data pipelines and preprocessing workflows required for AI/ML applications.Fine-tune and optimize machine learning and language models where appropriate.Implement model evaluation frameworks and monitor model performance, accuracy, latency, and reliability.Develop mechanisms to address AI-specific risks such as hallucinations, bias, data leakage, and model drift.Work with vector databases and search technologies to support semantic search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions.Build APIs and services that expose AI capabilities to other applications and platforms.Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.Contribute to architecture decisions and establish best practices for AI development and deployment.Support the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of AI solutions in production.Ensure AI solutions meet security, privacy, scalability, and compliance requirements.Stay up to date with the latest developments in Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and Machine Learning technologies.Must-Have Skills & Experience5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, or a related field.Strong programming skills in Python.Solid understanding of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence concepts.Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in production.Strong experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).Practical experience with RAG architectures, embeddings, vector search, and semantic search.Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or similar.Experience working with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architectures.Good understanding of data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean code, testing, and design patterns.Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good English communication skills.Nice-to-Have / AdvantagesExperience with AI Agents and Agentic AI architectures.Experience with Microsoft Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Llama, or other foundation models.Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Milvus, or Azure AI Search.Experience with MLOps / LLMOps practices.Knowledge of model serving and inference technologies.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Experience building AI solutions using MCP (Model Context Protocol).Knowledge of AI evaluation and observability frameworks.Experience with prompt evaluation, guardrails, and responsible AI practices.Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.Experience working with sensitive or regulated data.Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.Relevant AI/ML or cloud certifications.Soft SkillsStrong ownership and ability to work independently.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to translate complex AI concepts into practical business solutions.Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for AI-driven improvements.Strong attention to quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.
