Position: Senior AML AnalystJob Overview:The Senior Analyst, AML Financial Crime serves as a subject-matter expert responsible for leading both complex Transaction Monitoring (TM) and Suspicious Transaction Report (STR/SAR) investigations, concluding issues, and proposing strategic, actionable solutions. This role provides direct governance and oversight of analysts, fostering a culture of continuous knowledge sharing and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include managing compliance-related customer escalations, driving end-to-end workflow execution, and ensuring strict adherence to departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

1.Complex Investigations & Issue ResolutionTM & STR Execution: Lead complex Transaction Monitoring (TM) and Suspicious Transaction Report (STR/SAR) investigations, applying advanced analytical judgment to high-risk customer segments, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and complex corporate structures.Strategic Problem Solving: Consolidate and assess investigative issues escalated by analysts; conclusively resolve complex financial crime challenges and propose strategic, actionable risk-mitigation solutions.Regulatory Reporting: Author, review, and finalize high-quality, legally sound STR/SAR narratives that clearly articulate suspicious activity and synthesize intelligence from internal platforms and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT).2.Team Governance & SLA ManagementAnalyst Oversight: Provide direct governance and quality assurance (Maker/Checker) over junior analysts regarding their assigned tasks, evaluating preliminary case files for accuracy, comprehensiveness, and adherence to internal policies.Workflow & SLA Execution: Drive the end-to-end execution of operational workflows, actively monitoring team queues and output to ensure strict adherence to departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by providing ongoing training, day-to-day guidance, and constructive feedback to the team regarding investigative methodologies and emerging regulatory updates.3. Escalations & Compliance OperationsCustomer Escalations: Manage and resolve complex, compliance-related customer escalations and complaints, ensuring regulatory alignment and protecting institutional reputation.Audit Readiness: Ensure all high-risk escalations, case decisions, and rationales are meticulously documented to maintain an audit-ready standard for internal reviews and regulatory inspections.Typology Assessment: Actively collaborate with management to evaluate and calibrate transaction monitoring rules against emerging local and global MoneyLaundering/Terrorist Financing (ML/TF) trends.4. Process Optimization & Special ProjectsSystem Testing (UAT): Participate in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new AML surveillance systems, automated workflows, and risk-scoring models, providing actionable feedback to refine automated scripts and AI-driven tools.Ad-Hoc Initiatives: Execute urgent regulatory data requests, compliance reviews, and special projects as directed by management to mitigate emerging risks and resolve operational bottlenecks.Required Qualifications & Experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Criminal Justice, or a related field.Certifications: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent industry certification is highly preferred.Experience: 3–5 years of specialized experience within a financial institution focusing on AML compliance, complex financial investigations, and workflow management.Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in transaction surveillance platforms, OSINT research, link analysis methodologies, adverse media screening applications, and centralized customer data repositories.Core Competencies: Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, proven ability to govern and mentor peers, and exceptional written communication skills tailored for formal regulatory reporting.
