Apply & track with Apply EdgeReport to : Head of Private Equity and Venture CapitalLocation: Nairobi (Kenya), Dubai (UAE)Role OverviewAxian Group is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its Private Markets team, supporting investment activity across the full spectrum of private markets strategies: primary fund commitments, co-investments, direct investments, secondaries and publicly listed private markets vehicles. The role covers opportunities across global markets, spanning private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real assets, and related strategies. The successful candidate will play a central role in sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring investments, working closely with senior team members both front and back office, external managers, and co-investment partners.Key ResponsibilitiesFund InvestmentsConduct due diligence on primary and secondary fund commitments, including manager assessment, strategy analysis, track record review, and reference checks.Build and maintain quantitative models to assess fund-level performance, cash flow projections, and portfolio construction impact.Prepare investment memoranda and recommendations for the investment committee.Monitor existing fund investments, including performance tracking, capital call and distribution management, and manager engagement.Co-InvestmentsEvaluate co-investment opportunities alongside general partners, including underwriting of individual transactions and assessment of alignment with portfolio strategy.Support due diligence workstreams (commercial, financial, and structural) in collaboration with GPs, advisors, and internal stakeholders.Assist in negotiating investment terms and coordinating legal and structuring input.Direct and Listed InvestmentsAnalyze direct investment opportunities across private companies globally, including financial modeling, valuation, and market/competitive analysis.Cover listed private markets vehicles (e.g., listed private equity funds, BDCs, infrastructure and real asset investment trusts) including public market research, comparable analysis, and portfolio monitoring.Support execution of direct transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence coordination, and post-investment integration planning.Portfolio Monitoring & ReportingTrack portfolio performance across all investment types and contribute to quarterly and annual reporting to internal stakeholder.Maintain and enhance internal databases, tracking tools, and performance dashboards.Monitor macroeconomic, sector, and regulatory developments across global markets relevant to the portfolio.Research & Market IntelligenceConduct thematic and sector research to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities across geographies and strategies.Benchmark portfolio performance against relevant indices and peer groups.Contribute to the development of investment theses and strategic asset allocation discussions.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CAIA a plus.At least 4 years of relevant experience in private markets investing, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or a related field.Demonstrated experience across at least two of the following: fund investments, co-investments, direct investments, or listed private markets vehicles.Strong financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis skills.Exposure to global markets and comfort working across multiple geographies, currencies, and regulatory environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise investment materials.High level of intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and sound investment judgment.Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Proficiency in Excel and financial databases.
