Senior Android App Engineer (Kotlin)

Intellias is glad to announce a vacancy for Senior Android Automotive Engineer position! The project is focused on development of next generation IVI media casting solution, for leading EU OEM. Successful candidates will be working in a friendly and process oriented team, developing a high quality solution. The team will work according to a Scaled Agile framework best practices, used by the OEM, with focus on technology excellence and high automotive-grade quality standards.Project goal is development of IVI media casting solution on Android Automotive software platform for leading EU OEM. It is full cycle development project that at the moment is in early software architectural design phase. The following technology stack is planned to be used: AOSP based Android Automotive SW platform, Kotlin/Java/C++ programming languages, Media casting technologies incl. Google Cast and Apple AirPlay. Team size at the peak will be 10+ engineers. Scaled Agile best practices alongside with automotive grade processes will be applied on this project.Requirements:Strong Kotlin development skills with a solid understanding of Android application architectureStrong understanding of C++, memory management, STL containersGood knowledge of architecture and design patterns, and API design principlesProficiency in multithreading and concurrency using Kotlin Coroutines and/or RxJavaStrong experience with Android Studio, gradleStrong expertise in HAL and Android servicesHands-on experience with multithreading, including race conditions, deadlocks, etc.Practical experience with unit testingExperience with debugging toolsAbility to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical multi-functional teamsHigh critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategySelf-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented, and a strong team playerCreativity and high level of independenceExperience with all phases of the software development life cycleUnderstanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and engineering practicesEnglish level: Upper-Intermediate (B2)Will be a plus:Good understanding of Android Automotime platform architectureAptitude and desire to independently learn new technologiesExperience with bug-tracking tools like Bugzilla, Jira, etc.Experience with code versioning tools such as Git (pull requests, branching strategies, tags, etc.)Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub)Familiarity with the build process management tools such as CMake/MakeExperience with Python, bash scriptingExperience in documentation creationExperience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)Responsibilities:Software design of media casting software components for AOSP Android Automotive platformSource code review of AOSP Android Automotive software componentsOptimization of media casting components from architectural and algorithmic point of viewAttendance of Scaled Agile ceremonies
